Our commitment towards cradle-to-cradle sustainability

Our goal is to create heirlooms at Production Mode, keeping our pieces in circulation as long as possible. If an item from our collection is no longer working for you, we can give them new life through repair and resale.

Once resale is no longer possible, we will recycle and downcycle as we can in order to keep waste to a minimum. 

STEP ONE

Drop off or ship your clean Production Mode items*

*we can only accept items from the Production Mode collection- at this time we cannot accept items from our partner brands that we sell at the store.

STEP TWO

We evaluate your items- we’ll let you know if we can sell the item, or if we need to re- or downcycle it. 

If we can sell the item, we will eco dryclean it, repair it if necessary, and inventory it. This process can take up to three weeks from receipt of your item.

STEP THREE

Your item is added to the sales floor! If it sells within 90 days (with an option to extend another 90 days), we’ll notify you upon the sale of the item. You’ll receive a store/web credit for 50% of the item’s resale value, minus the cost of repair (if necessary) and eco drycleaning.

If your item does not sell after the 90 days or extension, we will donate it, so that it can have a second life.

FAQ

  • No- at this time we can only accept items from the Production Mode collection

  • We will take any and all Production Mode items (we can re- or down-cycle what we can’t sell). If you’d like to see if your item is in good enough condition for re-sale and want to know the approximate resale price, please feel free to send photos and questions to: sales@productionmodechicago.com. 

  • We can mend it for you through our visible mending program and we offer alterations on Production Mode pieces in-house at our Chicago store at cost.
